okay here we go again
I finished the second elemantal in the series this one being: earth. I really like how this one came out although it doesn't really follow the style of the other one nessicarily... but ah well with skills like mine you can't help but improve:D... ehh?

i would advice tho, on the smudging part. i believe u smudge with ur fingers? i know it comes handy and its easy, but finger smuging is not good at all, kind of ruins the picture. try tortillons or even q-tips for smudging, or sometimes dont smudge at all, natural pencil shadowing looks great just as it is most of the time.
something else; try drawing with a more wide range of pencils (harder and softer; 2H, HB, 3B, 6B..), it gives it more contrast and helps to redefine the picture and thus look better. ;)

I did use a tortillon for both... for some reason though it came out looking greasy.
ReplyDeleteI will try that out though, as I usually only use a school pencil (a good type though, ticonderoga. smoothest I could get and the eraser's like heaven) for drawing but it wouldn't hurt to try...
